We decided to make a trip to Africa with friends, but it was important that it was not too expensive (Africa is expensive, you have to accept that) and that it was not just for safaris, so they finally made us a very complete and tailor-made proposal. We started our trip in and around Cape Town for 4 days, where we were able to enjoy the city, take the most beautiful coastal route we have ever seen, as well as diving with sharks, seeing penguins, visiting the famous vineyards of Stellenbosch or climbing a famous mountain to see the sunset from the top of Cape Town. We then moved on to Botswana where our true African adventure would begin in Ngangane, a stunning game reserve, which we also had to ourselves.

With the guide in Spanish, and a very familiar and close treatment, we enjoyed some incredible days watching animals in the typical open safari car, as well as doing other activities such as touring the farm in quads and other 4×4 vehicles on our own and watching sunsets in unique places connecting totally with nature. My favourite moment these days: having a glass (or two) of Amarula by the fire after a ‘Boma’ night.

To transfer us to our next destination, a 10-seater ‘light aircraft’ came to pick us up at the same airstrip as the lodge, and we headed from there to the Kruger in South Africa. Since our budget was more limited and the lodges inside the Kruger are almost unaffordable, MOWANA put us up in a beautiful, very African hotel at the gates of the Kruger, even with its outdoor shower (this is a MUST in Africa!), where we all felt like we were on our honeymoon. These days we did game drives in the Kruger National Park and saw a lot of animals.

To put the ‘icing’ on the cake, on the advice of Verena, our consultant, we decided to treat ourselves to the last night of the trip at a unique boutique hotel in the Blyde Canyon Mountains, which is adjacent to the Kruger. I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone, one of the most breathtaking sights I have ever enjoyed. In addition, we were able to take the Panorama Route along the Blyde Canyon, which, as you can imagine, was an enriching experience with nature.

In short, the trip of a lifetime! I wouldn’t recommend any other way to do your first African safari.

My experience with MOWANA was simply one of the best experiences of my life. All the details were taken care of to the millimetre and communication was very fluid from the very first moment. They far exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back again soon.
¡THANKS MOWANA!
